Just another day at WWJI

KEY STAGE ONE & TWO

 A typical day at Whiston Worrygoose Primary School starts with a warm welcome.  Our day begins at 8.45am  when the classroom doors open, children are greeted at the doors to the classrooms by a teacher or sometimes other staff members.  Children will then make their way into class to begin their day of successful learning.

Mornings at Whiston Worrygoose are still full of lessons ranging from reading, writing, spelling and grammar, phonics and maths.  Each class has its's own timetable, which you can find on the class pages and some example timetables are pictured below too.

 

MORNING BREAK TIMES

10.45- 11:00am for Key stage 1.

11.00 - 11.15am  for Key Stage 2

 

ASSEMBLIES

Our assemblies run for both Key Stage One and Two 5 days a week. Our assemblies focus on British Values, singing, relevant news stories and much more.

10:45 - 11:00am for Key stage 2.

11:00 - 11:15 for Key stage 1.

Our Friday celebration assembly will begin at 10:30.

 

LUNCH TIMES

At Whiston Worrygoose we believe it is very important that each child has the opportunity to enjoy their lunch hour with their friends. It is a time to refuel adequately for the afternoon activities and a time to have fun. Each class will eat lunch in the dining hall, where children will be offered a wide range of meals of hot meals including curry, vegetable bolognaise, roast chicken, dinner pizza and wedges, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, pasta pots, and so much more.  

11.45 in Foundation stage

12:15 - 1:15pm Key stage 1 and 2.

 

AFTERNOONS

Afternoons will vary depending on each class.  A typical afternoon will include handwriting or maths fluency practice, and a variety of other subjects such as Science, Religious Education, PE, History, Geography, Art, Design Technology, Music, PSHE and even Latin in KS2.
