YEAR FOUR
Hello and welcome to the Year 4 page. Here you’ll find useful information about your child’s class and what they’ll be learning throughout the year.
In Year 4, children continue to grow as confident, independent learners, building on everything they’ve achieved so far. With a rich and varied curriculum, we provide exciting opportunities for children to deepen their understanding, explore new ideas, and challenge themselves across all subjects.
We place a strong focus on developing key skills in reading, writing, and maths, while also encouraging curiosity in subjects like science, geography, history, art, and more. Our aim is to nurture a love of learning and support every child in becoming a resilient, reflective, and enthusiastic learner.
As a team, we are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive classroom where every child feels valued and able to thrive. If you ever have any questions or would like to chat about your child’s progress, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—our door is always open.
Warm regards,
Mrs Rowan and Mrs Angell

TRANSITION FOR SEPTEMBER 2025
To help aid transition, we have created a short presentation to help introduce you to your new teacher and a word document to help you learn more about your new class. We hope this helps.

HOME LEARNING
While we don't set weekly homework tasks for your child to complete we do see the benefits of regular reading, spelling and maths fluency practice. Below are links to two maths programmes that will improve your child's maths fluency and automaticity (Numbots - EY/KS1 and TTRockstars KS1/2). Alongside these programmes we advise that children read either their decodable book or love of reading book daily and also practice their spellings from the list below.
