YEAR ONE
Hello and welcome to the Year 1 page. Here you’ll find key information about your child’s class and learning journey.
We are passionate about providing a high-quality, nurturing environment where every child can truly shine. Year 1 is an exciting stage of growth and discovery, and we are committed to making it a happy and successful start to Key Stage 1.
Building on the foundations laid in FS2, your child will continue their educational journey with new challenges and opportunities. In Year 1, we foster an engaging and imaginative learning atmosphere where children feel safe to explore, ask questions, and take risks. Our rich and varied curriculum aims to inspire a love of learning while developing essential skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.
If you ever have any questions or would like to discuss anything, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—we’re always here to help.
Warm regards,
Miss Naylor

TRANSITION FOR SEPTEMBER 2025
To help aid transition, we have created a short presentation to help introduce you to your new teacher and a word document to help you learn more about your new class. We hope this helps.

HOME LEARNING
While we don't set weekly homework tasks for your child to complete we do see the benefits of regular reading, spelling and maths fluency practice. Below are links to two maths programmes that will improve your child's maths fluency and automaticity (Numbots - EY/KS1 and TTRockstars KS1/2). Alongside these programmes we advise that children read either their decodable book or love of reading book daily and also practice their spellings from the list below.
