Experiences at WWG
At Whiston Worrygoose, we believe that memorable experiences enrich learning and help pupils understand the world beyond the classroom. Alongside our academic curriculum, pupils take part in a wide range of visits, visitors and special events that broaden their horizons and bring learning to life.
These experiences are carefully planned across each year group so that all pupils have opportunities to explore new places, meet inspiring people and develop their curiosity about the world.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Educational visits and visitors allow pupils to experience learning first-hand. By seeing places, objects and environments in real life, pupils are able to deepen their understanding of the knowledge they learn in the classroom.
Visits are carefully linked to the National Curriculum so that pupils can explore important historical sites, scientific environments, cultural venues and natural landscapes. These experiences help pupils make meaningful connections with their learning and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Developing Confidence and Independence
Experiences beyond the classroom also help pupils develop important personal skills. Educational visits encourage pupils to work collaboratively, develop independence and build confidence in new environments.
Through these opportunities, pupils develop resilience, curiosity and the confidence to try new things, helping them grow both academically and personally.
Planned Experiences Across the School
Each year group benefits from carefully planned visits and visitors that enhance the curriculum and support pupils’ personal development. These experiences help to bring learning to life and ensure that every pupil has opportunities to develop cultural awareness, curiosity and aspiration.
